This small family run hotel was designed by Tom Kelly Architects in Dublin. The hotel was designed to be fresh and modern, yet opulent. All bedrooms were designed so to maximise their individual characteristics. A refreshing pale yellow and cornflower blue scheme was worked with modern furniture and classic fabrics. In the Lobby & Ruby Room porcelain floor tiles, antique mahogany fireplace and timber panelling are combined with rich gold and red fabrics for luxury.
The use of contemporary chandeliers and modern lighting lift an otherwise traditional scheme. All the artwork through out the hotel was commissioned by Kilkenny artist Catherine Barron and each piece incorporating specific elements of local history.
The Lush Bistro was designed to attract both lunchtime and evening custom. The customer is met with a comfortable waiting area and wine bar on entering. The cream limestone flagstone floor is combined with white oak furniture to maximise light. Aqua upholstery gives freshness to the scheme and is accented with punches of salmon.
