Brooks Hotel

The Client brief was to give this lobby-cafe a contemporary and modest art deco touch while creating a greater impression of height and space. The back office was completely reconfigured to maximise efficiency; while the porters desk was repositioned adjacent to the entrance and a comms room built in it’s place.

This created more room behind reception where a new lacquered curved wall was proposed, offering a dramatic backdrop to the brass reception desk and backlit clock. The same brass detailing was carried onto new comms room and elevator architraves, along with an art deco motif on the doors. Using a fresh ink-blue lacquer, the existing panelling and cafe screening blends seamlessly with the new reception. This is balanced with pale gold walls, gold chevron curtains and cream art deco style chairs. The warm, elegant scheme continues throughout the lobby and into the adjoining cafe.
