The Sheridan Bar

As part of the refurbishment of the Food Court at Shannon Airport, we were asked redesign the existing 300 sq.m. bar space. The primary challenge was accomodating a variety of offerings – bar, food servery and table service – which could be adapted as required to suit the non-stop 24hr service. The solution was to create an island bar, the ‘kitchen’ area of which, could be closed off at quiet times of day. Universal design was implimented throughout, with particular attention to the needs of travellers with luggage.
The Concept behind The Sheridan Bar is to take design features that are inherently Irish in origin, form or material and treat them in a contemporary manner. The characteristic of each element is rooted in Ireland, although the overall effect is on trend and sits well on a world stage, fitting for airport hospitality.
